What is Orunodoi Scheme in Assam?
The main purpose of Orunodoi scheme Assam is to reduce the poverty by providing the basic needs in health and nutrition. The scheme provides a monthly financial assistance to the eligible families to fulfil their daily household needs that includes medicines, pulses, vegetables, other essential needs.
The scheme is mainly intended for the poor families who fails to meet their daily expenses. The financial aid provided by Orunodoi is directly transferred to the female head of the household. In other word the scheme boost women empowerment.
Orunodoi Scheme Eligibility Criteria (Latest)
The main pre-criteria to become a beneficiary of Orunodoi 3.0 is that the individuals must be registered under National Food Security Act (NFSA). Therefore, the individuals must prosses a valid ration card.

Benefits Provided In the Scheme
Monetary Benefits:
The enrolled beneficiary under the scheme Orunodoi 3.0 will get a monetary benefit of ₹ 1250 every month directly credited to the women beneficiary account. The main purpose of this financial aid is for nutritional help and as a subsidy for electricity.

How To Apply For Orunodoi Scheme 3.0
This is very import to know for the eligible beneficiaries that, there is no application form or online process to apply the scheme. According to the guidelines of the Orunodoi 3.0 the beneficiaries can’t apply themselves for the scheme.
The process that is followed to enrol an individual to the scheme is as follow-
- Beneficiary Identification: Beneficiaries are first identified by the government itself through Household surveys, existing government databases and field level verifications.
This identification and verification is conducted by Gaon Panchayat/VCDC in rural areas and ULBs in urban areas.
- Verification and Approval: Shortlisted beneficiaries are verified at local level then approved by the district authorities and final uploaded in the Orunodoi 3.0 Database.
Important Note: As Orunodoi is a selected based welfare scheme hence contacting some middleman or agents doesn’t increase the selection chances.

If there is no update from the above, the beneficiaries are advised to keep patience for the next verification cycle rather relying on unofficial agents.
Some Common Problems and Solutions
We have observed many cases where eligible beneficiaries also left out from the schemes as they can’t produce the right documents such as Aadhaar link ration card, Aadhaar link bank account etc. Some beneficiaries also can’t get the benefit from the scheme due to mis-verification.
Below are some of the common problems and their solutions-
Problem: Eligible Household not included in the scheme
Solution: This may happen due to missed verification. The eligible beneficiary need to contact the Gaon Panchayat /ULB office for request verification in the next review.
Problem: Direct Bank Transfer fails because Aadhaar not linked with bank account
Soluton: Visit the branch for Aadhaar seeding
Problem: Bank account is not in the name of the women beneficiary
Solution: Because of this the DBT could not happen. In that case the beneficiary is advised to open a bank account on her name and complete the Aadhaar seeding process.
Problem: Selected for the scheme but payment not credited
Soluton: Payment may be delayed due to multi-level or DBT processing by the bank. In that case beneficiaries are advised to check with the GP/ULB for confirm approval and also to check with the bank if the bank account is active, DBT is enabled.
Problem: Lack of information and communication
Solution: As beneficiaries are not informed about their selection process its is advised to keep in touch with the Panchayat Secretary and Ward member.
